Well Maybe your Ready?

So you keep second guessing yourself if your child is ready for Potty Training.  Trust me if They are not ready don't try it.  As a Nanny for the Last 17 years I have Potty Trained alot of children over the years.  I have worked for parents who wanted to rush the Potty Training Issue.  Everyone has to be on the same page when it comes to Potty Training!  You can't train the child one day and decided that you don't have time to do it the next day, it just doesn't work like this.  If Your child is not ready  you will become fustrated and so will your child.

Here is a List of Readiness Indicators for  helping to decide with this is the right time for Potty Training.
Is your child at leas eighteen months old?  The reason why I stress this is because children are developing the muscle and bladder capacity to begin the potty training Process between 18 and 24 months of Age.
Is your Child's diaper dry for at least two hours at a time?  If your child is able to hold urine for at least two hours at a time this indicates that the child baldder is large enough and mature enough for potty training to be successful.
Do your child let you know he is wet or has a bowel Movement? Don't except your child to be successfully in learning to use the tiolet is he or she is not even aware of being wet or having a bowel movement.
Does your child tell you or indicate that he or she is uncomfortable in wet or soiled diapers?
If your child does care that he or she is wet or has a dirty diapers.  It is going to be very hard to convince them to urinate and have bowel movements in the potty.
Can your child sit upright for 5 minutes?
Can your Child UNDRESS enough to sit on the potty?
Is your child able to get himself to the potty?
Can your Child follow simple Directions?
Does your Child answer simple yes and no questions?
Does your child imitate other-parents,caregivers,or other children?

If you answered all these questions and think your child is ready go for it!  But Remember you the Adult has to make some changes in your routines, some sacrifices, and some time Adjustments in order for potty training to be Successful for your Child!
